The JBL TUNE230NC tick all the boxes for audio quality, active noise cancellation, comfort value and battery life. And it does it without breaking the bank.

If you’re after wireless earphones that offer impressive audio quality, active noise cancellation, great battery life and give you real bang for your buck then you can’t go past new JBL TUNE230NC.

Priced at just $149.95, the JBL TUNE230NC truly punch above their weight.

The earphones look a bit like Apple’s AirPods and have a short stalk that sits outside your ear and offer a snug fit.

The earbud also has a silicon tip to help make it even secure in your ear.

The JBL TUNE230NC is also water resistant and sweatproof thanks to the IPX4 rating so there’s nowhere you can’t use the earphones while you’re exercising (unless you’re swimming!).

Under the hood are 6mm drivers which offer JBL’s Pure Bass Sound – this was a nice addition without being too over the top.

Also onboard is active noise cancellation (ANC) which uses two microphones to listen out for ambient sound and cancel it out with a reverse sound wave so you can focus on your content.

The ANC on the JBL TUNE230NC isn’t the best we’ve heard but it’s still above average.

The earphones also have Ambient Aware so you can hear what’s going on around you.

In terms of audio quality, the JBL TUNE230NC really delivers with big and bold sound backed by that cracking bass.

For the price, the JBL earphones are really playing above their grade.

The JBL Headphones app also offer a way to improve the sound more to your taste with the custom equaliser.

The app also provides shortcuts to activating ANC and Ambient Aware but the easiest way to do this is by tapping and double tapping the left earbud stalk.

The right earbud offers volume control and lets you navigate your music with gestures as well.

Now let’s talk about battery life – you get 40 hours’ worth – 10 hours in the earphones themselves and 30 in the charging case.

The charging case is small enough to fit in your pocket and, what we really liked were the charge indicator lights so you know at a glance the battery level of the case.

The JBL TUNE230NC are available now and priced at $149.95. They are available in three colours – blue, white and black.

The JBL TUNE230NC tick all the boxes for audio quality, active noise cancellation, comfort value and battery life. And it does it without breaking the bank.
