The Sony WH-1000XM5 is launched in two color shades including Black and White and it sports a classic over-the-head earphone design. The Sony WH-1000XM5 also follows the iconic design of the WH-1000X series, but this one comes with an upgraded form factor and a beautiful finish. The headphone uses a soft fit leather material majorly on the ear cups and headband area to make it comfortable for users to wear them for long hours.

The headphones are lighter in comparison with the predecessor, and the newly added material to the ear cups is capable enough of blocking the external noise even when you are just wearing them without even turning them on. The Sony WH-1000XM5 comes with a flexible headband which means you don’t have to make sure that you are using it roughly. Overall the design of the Sony WH-1000XM5 is impressive and I liked it with all my heart.

The Sony WH-1000XM5 comes equipped with 30mm dynamic drivers with a light and rigid dome. It has used carbon fibre composite material to improve high-frequency sensitivity for a better listening experience. On the right ear cup, you get gesture control which is going to help you with the playlists, calls, Google Assistant, and a lot more among others.

The newly launched Bluetooth headphones also come with Sony’s audio coding technology. Furthermore, the WH-1000XM5 also comes with 360 Reality Audio Certification that allows you to customize the music experience. It’s a quick process that you can do from the Sony Headphones Connect App.

Apart from that the WH-1000XM5 also arrives with important features like an AI-based noise reduction system which is capable of isolating the user’s voice with perfect precision along with the latest wind noise reduction structure to reduce wind noise in case you are using the headphones while running, driving or maybe in a middle of a busy street.

Sony WH-1000XM5 Impressive Noise Cancellation

The Sony WH-1000XM5 is equipped with two processors controlling eight microphones that dramatically reduce noise, especially in the mid-high frequency range, and an Auto NC Optimizer as per the company. In simple words you will get two modes with the headphones ANC and Ambient sound, you can also turn off the ANC as per your requirement. I have been using these headphones for more than two weeks and I must say that the ANC feature works like charm and it’s more than satisfactory at this price point, the AMB mode also works smoothly, ensuring that the ambient sounds are equally balanced with the sound of the music you are listening to.

I have tested the device in the busy streets of Bangalore and I was astonished by the noise cancellation performance. During the entire testing phase, I haven’t faced any issues with the connectivity of the design, or latency while watching video content on PC and smartphones. Hey one more thing, you can also connect two devices simultaneously. It can be a phone and PC or two PCs or two phones.

As mentioned above I have been using the device for the last couple of weeks and I hardly remember when I plugged the charger with the WH-1000XM5. The company claims that the device is capable of offering a battery life of 30 hours. In my case the device was capable of reaching the promised battery life with ANC, it might deliver more with ANC off. As per the company, 3 minutes of charging is enough for 3 hours of usage, but I didn’t get the chance to check the feature.

Nevertheless, looking at the battery life of the WH-1000XM5 we can say that the Bluetooth headphones are good for the ones who love to travel. A long-hour flight could be much easier with the WH-1000XM5.

Is It Worth Buying WH-1000XM5

The answer is Yes, the company has produced promising premium headphones which tick almost all the boxes which you might be expecting at the price point. The touch control access is on point, the design-wise it looks impressive, it has a powerful ANC feature, speak-to chat feature, and Adaptive Sound Control is impressive.

I don’t think you will be needing anything else in 27K headphones. Overall I can say that Sony has done a great job with the features and connectivity and produced a good Bluetooth headphone.
