Nothing has a new pair of earbuds coming this year and while they have a transparent design like the ear (1), there are some notable differences too.

Alongside the Phone (1), Nothing is also expected to announce other products, and a leak has revealed one of them is the ear (1) Stick, its second pair of earbuds. Nothing had previously revealed it has three products planned for release in 2022. A few months ago, it confirmed that it will launch its first smartphone this summer but didn't disclose what the other two products were. It's now been confirmed that new earbuds are coming too.

The identity of the third product still remains a mystery. However, with still about two weeks left before the launch of the Phone (1), there is a chance the third product might be revealed before then. On the other hand, it's also likely that Nothing isn't ready to launch the product yet, and may release it in the second half of the year instead.

The ear (1) earbuds were Nothing's first product, and while the company has been working on its first smartphone, it appears that a second pair of earbuds are also gearing up for a launch. The new in-ear earphones will be called the Nothing ear (1) Stick, as seen in images spotted in a now-deleted listing on Amazon Germany. Before the listing was taken down, Caschys Blog managed to grab a screenshot of the earbuds.

The ear (1) Stick's design is reminiscent of the ear (1) — it has the same clear plastic that shows some of its internals and white plastic around the top. Each earbud is also color-coded to tell which one is for the right and left ears. However, there are some notable differences. For starters, the earbuds come in an unusually long rectangular case, unlike the ear (1) which has a square charging case. There are also two dots (likely magnets) visible at the bottom of the stem which aren't present on the ear (1).

Furthermore, the description also reveals the earbuds have a feature called “AI Bass” and that they have a half-in-ear design (also known as open fit) similar to the first-gen AirPods. There is no mention of active noise cancelation (ANC), which is a bit of a surprise considering there are open-fit earbuds with ANC. Nothing's new earbuds also have an IP54 dust and water-resistance rating. In contrast, the ear (1) released in 2021 have an IPX4 rating which means they have no protection against dust. In addition, they connect via Bluetooth 5.2. The images only show a white version of the earbuds but a black version can't be ruled out, especially since there's also a black variant of the Phone (1).

The Nothing ear (1) Stick will sell for €99, the same launch price as the ear (1). However, the Amazon listing also revealed the earbuds will be sold bundled with the Phone (1), most likely at a reduced price. The new earbuds should be compatible with both iOS and Android devices. They should also work with the ear (1) app that's available on both platforms and support Google Fast Pair like the ear (1). While Nothing has revealed why the Phone (1) won't get a North American release, there is nothing stopping it from bringing the ear (1) Stick to the U.S.
